Kevin Kennedy

Mr. Kennedy was a Partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP and served as the Global Head of the firm’s Technology Practice for many years prior to his retirement. Over his 30-year career he helped take public a number of household names, including Airbnb, Shutterfly, DropBox, eBay, lululemon, Roblox, Sonos, and Tesla. He also has worked on every public financing completed by Apple since its IPO. In 2015, he received the Cal Spirit Award and has an unbroken football home game attendance streak lasting several decades (which he is still claiming despite the Covid year). In addition to his role as President and an Executive Director of the California Legends Collective, Mr. Kennedy also serves as a Trustee for the U.C. Berkeley Foundation and is a lecturer at Berkeley Law where he teaches a class on IPOs. Past campus affiliations include having served as a member of the Executive Board of the Berkeley Center for Law, Business and the Economy, a Board Member of the Boalt Hall Alumni Association and a Board Member for the Bowles Hall Foundation. Mr. Kennedy and his wife, Jeanette, are Builders of Berkeley.
